All sanity depends on this: that it should be a delight to feel heat strike the skin, a delight to stand upright, knowing the bones are moving easily under the flesh.
Doris Lessing
Ellen Katharine Rex, MA, is a certified Melt Method Level III and Amba Movement facilitator. Over the course of the past three decades, she has accumulated well over 10,000 practicum hours teaching a wide range of embodiment and mindfulness practices to small groups and individuals of many and varied experiences…and ranging in age from twelve to ninety-two!
Having worked in the natural foods, “cleansing” and retreat industry for over three decades now, she integrates her hard-earned experiential knowledge of health and healing into everything she does.
While Ellen Katharine firmly believes that we are NOT, in our essence, bodies, she also knows from personal experience that a body racked with aches, pains, inflammation-related illnesses and uncomfortable weight fluctuations can be a major distraction from showing up fully for your life.
Ellen would be the first person to remind you, YOU ARE NOT A BODY (no, you are so much more than that!). But she also feels that, paradoxically, Doris Lessing was right on the mark when she wrote, “All sanity depends on this: that it should be a delight to feel heat strike the skin, a delight to stand upright, knowing the bones are moving easily under the flesh.”
To that end, she enjoys helping people come back to the lives they love through offering a practical apothecary of micro-practices – like the Melt Method – that help them find a “way in” to their bodies that is do-able, affordable, and easy to integrate into daily life:
- The Melt Method teaches you how to become your own “Hands-Off Body Worker” ™ by helping you reconnect to your body, rebalance your body’s internal “GPS system,” and rehydrate and release your connective tissue, or fascia. In just ten minutes a day, 2-3 times a week, you can reclaim your birthright of pain-free living at any age.
- Amba Movement introduces wave-like fluid movement patterns inspired by Emilie Conrad’s Continuum Movement to help you remember long-forgotten, organic ways of moving that feel good to YOU.
- Taken together, these methods help move crucial health-promoting fluids through the net-like “crystalline lattice” of collagen tubes that envelop your entire body; we know this lattice as the body’s fascia, or connective tissue. Engaging in practices that help rehydrate and unwind the fascia is quickly becoming known as an essential, and safe, way to move “stuck stress” (and stuck emotions) through the tissue WITHOUT RISK OF RETRAUMATIZATION.
Ellen’s hope is that that our collective efforts will help YOU arrive at a state of joyful well-being as soon as possible. The world needs your radiant, loving, best and most soulful self now more than ever. Come back to life!
